Tennessee Technological University

Founded on March 27, 1915, Tennessee Tech originated from the University of Dixie, a private institution established in 1909. It transitioned to state control in 1915 as Tennessee Polytechnic Institute and became a university in 1965

Tennessee Technological University is located in Cookeville, Tennessee. It places special emphasis on undergraduate education in fields related to engineering, technology, and computer science, but also offers degrees in education, liberal arts, agriculture, nursing and other fields of study. There are graduate and doctorate offerings in engineering, education, business, and the liberal arts.

Tennessee Tech houses seven strong academic divisions. The College of Engineering operates three multimillion-dollar, state-supported centers of excellence focusing on manufacturing research and technology utilization, management, utilization and protection of water resources, and electric power.

Tennessee Technological University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
